2016 PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS LOOK-A-LIKE GOWNS

Published on: Thursday, January 7, 2016 03:30

Last night’s 2016 People's Choice Awards, one of the few award shows where the winners are chosen based on fan-votes by actual people, was a true comedy of errors.

Among the screaming fans that made up the majority of the audience, we watched as random non-celebs rushed the stage and runners up were (jokingly) announced as “winners”. There was even a reported wardrobe malfunction that happened when a congratulatory hug from Leslie Mann snapped the top of Dakota Johnson’s silver crop top dress!

Fortunately, these next few gowns were malfunction-free and represent the best of the red carpet at last night’s celebrity circus. Here’s a look at our favorites, and some prom dresses from Terry Costa to help you snag their signature looks.

Julianne Hough

The Dancing With the Stars mover and shaker is always one to watch on the red carpet, and last night’s sizzler was no exception. This strappy off the shoulder cut out dress that Julianne Hough wore had us ready to open our wallets and pay any price to mirror her flawless glamour. We love the way this crimson Alyce look-a-like pulls in her gowns best features including an exaggerated straight shoulder line, slight midriff exposure and mermaid cut skirt. Sign us up!

Alison Brie

Mad Men star and Community beauty Alison Brie was smart to show off her classic good looks in a simple yet sexy high neck, cut out dress. From the neutral color to her choice to go virtually accessory-free, we can’t give her enough due praise. Of course, if you’re like us, you like a little more bling. This black Alyce doppelgänger features the same elegant neckline and side cut outs, with an added statement piece center broche. Our favorite!

Abigail Spencer

And the award for best structured high-low dress goes to…our girl Abby S! We love her decision to go with a streamlined classic pattern that harkens all the old Hollywood glamour of the mid-century. And while red is to die for on her, we think this teal Faviana stunner slays with the same clean lines, fitted waist and pleated full-length overlay skirt.

Shay Mitchell

The sexy is strong with this one. Shay, who’s always a knockout, turned every head on the red carpet when she stepped out in this backless, side slit gown. The dress also features a unique horizontal stripe pattern that spans the upper thigh and drifts up toward the waist. We love all the color choices this La Femme twin offers and can’t wait to make her look our own!

Keke Palmer

The freshest look on the red carpet had to be this lace crop top two-piece dress worn by little Keke Palmer. It has all of prom 2016’s hottest trends in one flawless look. From the high-waisted satin skirt to the slight train at the bottom, this Sherri Hill version offers the same hip features in a variety of colors to fit any hair and skin coloring!

Ashley Benson

Ashley Benson rarely misses onscreen or off, and we think she totally knocked it out of the park in this fitted long-sleeve little black dress. The addition of a few simple shoulder sparkles added a wealth of glitz to this otherwise simple ensemble. Though, you know us, we can’t resist some serious shimmer, which is why we’re opting for this black sequin version when as we get ready to hit the dance floor!
