Published on: Thursday, February 27, 2020 04:00

Award season is officially upon us. The fact that it aligns with prom season is a happy coincidence we’re rolling out the red carpet for.

So let’s not waste any time. Here are the nominees for best look-a-like prom dress from the 2020 Academy Awards.

Brie Larson

Brie Larson consistently tops award show best-dressed lists. One look at this sparkly cape gown and there’s no doubt why. It’s classy and dramatic without being too over the top. Fitting of her fabulousness, this red carpet stunner is one you’ll definitely want to recreate. Sherri Hill does this doppelgänger justice in a beaded cape gown that’s every bit as flattering and fitted as the original.

Rebel Wilson

If Rebel Wilson’s gold sequin Academy Awards gown were a song it’d be pitch perfect. It’s old Hollywood glamour with ample charm and figure flattering details. We love the way this metallic Faviana Curve style 9457 embodies a similar ruched waistline and semi-sweetheart neck with an off the shoulder vintage feel. Our lovely look-a-like also comes with a similarly pleated bodice and a flirty front slit to make it your own.

Rooney Mara

On or off the red carpet, Rooney Mara can practically do no wrong. She’s always one to watch, and her truly unique style did not disappoint on Sunday. Her black lace and tulle gown was unlike any other on the red carpet that night. This glamorous clone by Alyce Paris embodies a similar elegance with its plunging neckline, feather adorned cap sleeves, sheer embroidered lace bodice, and full layered ruffled skirt.

Florence Pugh

This little woman caused one big stir in her teal ruffled Academy Awards dress. We love the way this low cut spaghetti strap bodice hugs her natural waistline then subtly polishes off the silhouette with a matching satin belt. Ellie Wilde’s similar satin glitter sweetie offers prom queens a modesty mesh inset so as not to distract from the real star of the show: a sparkly, fully tiered tulle skirt!

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie is a timeless beauty whose style and stature will no doubt be celebrated for centuries to come. Her strapless vintage gown with sheer arm sleeves deserves all the praise please. In a similar fashion, Sherri Hill style 53630 is also shaping up to be one of Spring 2020’s most prized prom dresses. It’s ideal for dames who want to make an entrance and embrace their inner Grecian-goddess… or Harley Quinn.

Kaitlyn Dever

If you thought you loved Kaitlyn Dever in Booksmart, just wait until you hear how this real-life intellectual made a lasting statement on the red carpet. Not only was her dress fire, it was also ethically and sustainably made, as reported by Teen Vogue. The strapless ruby red gown is equally glamorous and perfect for helping you state your good taste.

Beanie Feldstien

Booksmart counterpart Beanie Feldstein was a vision in this black and white floral print gown. Our in-store pick replicates the look, adding a distinct open lace-up back, a seamed waistline, and a faux wrap skirt with sassy thigh high slit.

Mindy Kaling

Funny girl Mindy Kaling’s one shoulder academy award dress is no laughing matter. It’s definitely at the top of our best-dressed list – and not just because we love yellow prom dresses. Its signature silhouette and waistline ruching start things off right and a cut out back creates a complete 360 stunner.

Which academy award dress will you replicate for prom 2020?
